Wow, it's been AGES since I've done one of these -- like, well over a month! I hope I can remember a month worth of thankfulness. Here we go!
1. The new camera I got for my birthday!
2. Watching my brothers & uncles literally running from the fireworks they just finished lighting.
Like so:
3. Enjoying Houston.
4. The gemstones exhibit hall at the Science Museum.
This picture, or any that I took, doesn't even do it justice.
5. Climbing trees.
At least it was fun before the fire ants started biting my feet!
6. Texas pride and FREE 'stros tickets!
THANKS, Uncle Blo!
7. FUNNEL CAKE!
Even though it was a bit stale. Yes, it is possible to have stale funnel cake. Who knew?
8. Fun with the monkeys.
9. Greta's wedding, but you'll have to go to my Facebook albums here and here to see pics of that.
10. Enjoying city gardens.
11. Elaine getting ENGAGED and asking me to be in her wedding! YAY!!!
The wedding will be at The Houstonian, where we will all be staying for the weekend. YIPPEE!!!

I look at the screen . . .
and all I see is the cursor blinking at me . . .
I have plenty to say -- about new developments re England, about the teacher trainings I've been attending all week, about aging parents/grandparents, about the Jonas Brothers, about love languages, about God -- but I just can't focus long enough to sit and get it all out.
Perhaps this weekend?
But just know, I'm alive and well. And I'm thankful on this Thursday. Well, it's past midnight, so I guess it's technically Friday. Whatev.

Looky, looky! I can do impressions!
My TV: Hey, I have more than 4 channels, you know.
My fireplace: Uh, winter's over now. Get off your butt and clean out these scuzzy ashes, will you?
My cats: Uh, Mom, why are you singing and dancing for us while we're trying to sleep? And what's with all the pictures you've been taking of us lately?
The guy at the photo place who's gonna develop my disposable camera: Who's the dork who only takes pictures of cats?
My coworkers: Dang, she really likes cats.
My neighbors: That chick on the 3rd floor listens to ABBA a whooooole lot.
My dirty dishes: Yoo-hoo! Remember us? Where do we go to file an official complaint for neglect?
My computer: Thank you for not retiring me. Speed is overrated. Good things come to those who wait, Missy.
My new car: Where have you been all my life?? I feel so loved!!
My old car: SOB!! They say that breaking up is hard to do / Now I know / I know that it's true!!
(Yes, I'm weird.)

Quote of the Week
The conversation that ensues in the car after my complaints of a dozen mosquito bites (no exaggeration!) at my grandma's house:
Great Grandma Mae, age 81: The mosquitos bite me every time I go out to water the yard. I hate mosquitos!
Abby, age 4: I hate Satan.

Not for the faint of heart...
This is actually for Brandi. She & Bird hate the little dog magnet one of my coworkers gave to me because it's slightly anatomically correct. So a two weeks ago, after Greta's wedding, Bird got creative with the chocolate icing. It sat on the fridge for over a week until Mom finally noticed it. This is what it ended up looking like:

Love It or Hate It?
As I type Bird's making me watch Dances With Wolves, and is even threatening to cut off the internet if I don't put the computer away. I have two minutes. So I'll make it quick.
I've never seen it before and Bird & Brandi finally decided to sit me down and make me watch. I wasn't allowed to watch it when it first came out and then it just didn't seem appealing to me; it sounded boring. So, I figured it's time I give it a try. Will I love it or hate it? I'll let you know, so stay tuned . . .

Herman Park Fun
I think this is the third generation of my family to roll down the big hill at Herman Park. I'm posting this here mainly because I couldn't get it to send as an attachment to Bird & Brandi. And the fact that it's actually uploading as I type annoys me a bit because when I'm on my MacBook videos won't upload to Blogger (I'm using my Dad's Dell). GRRR!!!
Anywho, enjoy the laugh!
At the end he's walking away saying, "That's the biggest hill I've ever seen!" LOL!
