(Sorry this is a week late... :"> )
One thing about being born and raised in Texas is that just about every year around this time, you're, er, gently reminded about your geographic location.
When I saw The Passion of the Christ movie for the first time, I knew it was unlike any Passion play I had ever seen. Yessirree, Bob. The characters in most of the Passion plays where I come from say that they're from "Jerooz-alem" or that the "Chrah-st would be bow-worn in Bethle-heyem." I realize that art is simply an expression, not a Xerox copy, of the real thing. But you gotta admit that while you're still recovering from the shock of the crucifixion scene, you definitely rejoice and even emit a bit of a chuckle when you hear the actors cry, "Praise the Lo-ward! He lih-yevs!!"
Now that's comic relief. Not quite the kind that Mel Gibson inserted throughout his movie, though...
